How Hello Sammy Works
This page explains the customer journey from live phone call to scheduling, SMS consent, and follow-up.
Hello Sammy answers on behalf of the business and asks how it can help.
Sammy may collect the caller’s name, phone number, service address, service type, requested timing, and notes needed by the business.
For scheduling requests, Sammy checks configured availability and only offers appropriate appointment options.
Before any customer SMS is sent, Sammy asks the exact consent question published on our SMS Consent and SMS Opt-In Examples pages.
If the customer clearly agrees, transactional appointment/service SMS may be sent. If the customer says no, no customer SMS is sent. Providing a phone number alone is not SMS consent.
Messages may include confirmations, reminders, updates, cancellations, reschedules, or direct customer-service replies. Customers can reply STOP or HELP.
Exact phone-call SMS consent script
“Would you like me to text you a confirmation for this appointment? Message and data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP at any time.”
Customer-initiated SMS
A customer may also text a participating business first to request help, book, reschedule, cancel, or ask a customer-service question. Hello Sammy may send direct replies related only to that customer-initiated request. This is not a marketing subscription.
