Text Opt-In Proof
Business: Burkeman Labs LLC
Product / program name: Hello Sammy
Purpose: This page provides direct, public proof of how customers consent to receive transactional SMS messages from Hello Sammy. It is intended for Twilio, carrier, and A2P 10DLC review.
Hello Sammy does not use a public website form to collect SMS consent for this campaign. Consent is collected verbally during a live customer phone call, or by the customer initiating an SMS conversation first. Before any customer SMS is sent after a phone call, Hello Sammy asks the exact verbal opt-in script shown below. Providing a phone number alone is not SMS consent.
Exact verbal opt-in script
Before any customer SMS is sent, Hello Sammy asks the customer:
“Would you like me to text you a confirmation for this appointment? Message and data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP at any time.”
Step-by-step verbal opt-in process
The customer calls a participating business that uses Hello Sammy.
The customer asks for service, scheduling, rescheduling, cancellation, appointment follow-up, or customer-service follow-up.
Hello Sammy may ask for the mobile number needed for the appointment or service request.
Before any customer SMS is sent, Hello Sammy asks the exact consent script above.
If the customer clearly agrees, transactional SMS may be sent. If the customer says no, no customer SMS is sent.
Customers may reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. SMS consent is optional and is not required to book or receive service.
Where the phone number is captured
Phone number capture happens during the live customer call. Hello Sammy asks for the mobile number only when it is needed to complete the appointment, service request, reschedule, cancellation, or customer-service follow-up. Example: “What mobile number should we use for the appointment?”
After the customer provides the number, Hello Sammy still does not treat the number as SMS consent. Before any customer SMS is sent, Hello Sammy asks the exact opt-in script shown above and waits for a clear yes.
How consent is recorded
Hello Sammy records the customer’s SMS consent decision as part of the appointment or service interaction. If the customer clearly agrees, the interaction is marked as SMS consent approved for transactional appointment or service messages. If the customer declines, gives no answer, or gives an unclear answer, the interaction is treated as no SMS consent and no customer SMS is sent.
Consent applies only to transactional customer-service and scheduling messages for the customer’s request. This campaign is not used for marketing, advertising, promotions, coupons, newsletters, lead generation, or mass messaging.
