SMS Consent Policy

Hello Sammy is a product operated by Burkeman Labs LLC. Hello Sammy may send transactional SMS messages on behalf of participating businesses when customers request service, schedule an appointment, reschedule an appointment, cancel an appointment, or ask for customer-service follow-up.

Customers may consent to transactional SMS messages in the following ways:
- Verbal phone-call consent: During a live phone call, after the customer provides their mobile number for scheduling or customer-service follow-up, Hello Sammy asks the customer whether they would like a text confirmation for the appointment. The customer must clearly agree before any customer SMS is sent.
- Customer-initiated SMS: A customer may text a participating business first to request help, book, reschedule, cancel, or ask a customer-service question. Hello Sammy may reply only about that customer-initiated request.
Live phone-call consent journey
The customer calls a participating business that uses Hello Sammy.
Hello Sammy determines whether the customer needs scheduling, rescheduling, cancellation, service follow-up, or another customer-service reply.
Hello Sammy may collect the number needed for the appointment or customer-service request.
Hello Sammy asks the published consent script before any customer SMS is sent.
If the customer clearly agrees, transactional SMS may be sent. If not, no customer SMS is sent.
Exact phone-call opt-in script
Before any SMS is sent, Hello Sammy asks:
“Would you like me to text you a confirmation for this appointment? Message and data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP at any time.”
If the customer says yes, Hello Sammy may send transactional SMS messages related only to that appointment or service request. If the customer says no, no customer SMS is sent. SMS consent is optional and is not required to book an appointment or receive service.
Types of SMS messages
Messages may include:
- Appointment confirmations
- Appointment reminders
- Appointment updates
- Reschedule confirmations
- Cancellation confirmations
- Direct customer-service replies related to the customer’s request
Message frequency
Message frequency varies based on customer interactions, appointment activity, and service needs. For example, a customer may receive a confirmation after booking, a reminder before an appointment, and updates if the appointment changes.
Costs
Message and data rates may apply depending on the customer’s mobile carrier and plan.
Opt-out and help
Customers may opt out at any time by replying STOP. After opting out, the customer may receive a final confirmation message that they have opted out.

Transactional SMS only
Hello Sammy’s standard SMS program is transactional only. This campaign is not used for marketing, advertising, promotions, coupons, newsletters, lead generation, or mass messaging. Hello Sammy does not treat providing a phone number alone as SMS consent.
What Hello Sammy will not do
- Hello Sammy will not send customer SMS if the customer declines SMS consent during a call.
- Hello Sammy will not treat a phone number alone as permission to text.
- Hello Sammy will not send marketing, advertising, promotional, coupon, newsletter, lead-generation, or mass messaging texts through this campaign.
- Hello Sammy will not share mobile information or SMS consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
